Correspondence and miscellany concerning Kent State records, 1970-1984.

Following events of May 4, 1970 on the Kent State University campus, the Ohio Adjutant General began activities to investigate the actions of the Ohio National Guard and student protestors. Subsequently, researchers expressed interest in examining records generated as a result of the investigation. Information in the files shows the actions of individuals, staff from the Ohio National Guard's Judge Advocate General's office, and staff from the Ohio Historical Society in seeking and making records that concern the Kent State incident available for public inspection. File consists of correspondence, memoranda, notes, press releases, and news clippings.

When Mexican and Civil War soldiers mustered out of service, many regiments turned their flags over to the state of Ohio. The original Ohio Statehouse was erected between 1800 and 1803 in Chillicothe, Ohio. It was the first stone public building in Ohio and was constructed in the Georgian Colonial style.
